WKW scholarship opens gateway to success
August 04, 2011
In June 2010, the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WKW) president Ms. Brigitte Jank led a delegation to Istanbul to attend the “Showcase on education in Austria”.
Alexander Bari, Head of Business Development and International Affairs, represented MU at the summit to strengthen ties between Austrian and Turkish education providers. During this visit, Ms. Jank announced that the Chamber will grant two scholarships to promising young Turkish students to study in Austria. One was earmarked for an alumnus of St. George’s Austrian Commercial Academy (St. Georg’s-Kolleg) in Istanbul, an Austrian private school taught in both German and Turkish.
MODUL University Vienna is proud to announce that Basak Bilgin, a 2011 graduate of St. George’s, has been selected as the official recipient for the full scholarship which covers the total tuition fees for the three-year Bachelor of Business Administration in Tourism and Hospitality Management program. An outgoing and motivated student recommended by student counsellors, she will begin her studies at MU in fall 2011. Her bright future includes aspirations of obtaining a master’s degree, adding a fourth language to her multi-lingual aptitude, and specializing in business tourism.
We look forward to welcoming Ms. Bilgin and the rest of the 2011 cohort in September!
