Top achievers make the Dean's List

The Dean’s List is MODUL University’s recognition of outstanding academic achievement, and bachelor students who earn 24 or more ECTS during a semester with a GPA of 90% or above are eligible. Students receive a certificate for each semester he or she makes the list, and are invited to attend an annual breakfast at the Five Star Grand Hotel Vienna in the city center.

The exceptional students were invited to breakfast by Dagmar Lund-Durlacher, Dean of the Undergraduate School, and Karim Jalloul, the owner's representative of the Grand Hotel Vienna and Chair of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry Advisory Board of MODUL University.

Ten made the cut this semester: Marina Bartoletti, Carolin Brewi, Sebastian Ferrari, Anabel Frühsorger, Franziska Kuenburg, Veronika Kupfersberger, Sophie Neubauer, Magdalena Schellhorn, Vera Wanivenhaus and Gloria Wiederin. Over breakfast (Ms. Bartoletti, Mr. Ferrari, Ms. Frühsorger, Ms. Kupfersberger and Ms. Wanivenhaus unfortunately couldn't make it, last semester's Dean's list student Mr. Hala accepted his award following his reutrn from an exchange semester), Mr. Jalloul, offered a plethora of wisdom and career advice for our young standouts, and encouraged them to always ‘jump in’ and go for their dreams.

The students have a variety of goals for their futures, including two of the graduating students - Magdalena already has a clear picture for her post-MU career, hotel pre-opening operations, and Carolin will move to Düsseldorf to find a job in the hotel industry with the help of Hani El-Sharkawi of the Career Service Center.

Our other Dean’s list recipients still have some time to think about their career goals, and can look forward to what lies ahead. Gloria is in her third semester, and is still deciding what she wants to do after MU, but first up, an internship at Hotel Elba Castillo de San Jorge in Fuerteventura, Spain.

We congratulate all of our stellar scholars, and wish them all the best in their studies and careers!

L-R: Carolin Brewi, Dagmar Lund-Durlacher, Magdalena Schellhorn, Simon Hala, Gloria Wiederin, Karim Jalloul, Franziska Kuenburg, and Sophie Neubauer.
