The 4th annual MODUL Career Fair and Soirée was a shining success!

On October 17th, MODUL Career hosted the 4th annual Career Fair and Soirée at the MODUL University campus on Kahlenberg.

Beginning at noon, the Career Fair offered students of MU and Tourism College MODUL the chance to encounter a who’s who of the hospitality and tourism industry. Among the 35 companies exhibiting were hotels such as 25 Hours Vienna, Starwood Hotels, Ritz Carlton Vienna, and Mandarin Oriental Munich.  MRP Hotels, a leading hotel and tourism consultant was on site, as were Booking.com online tour operators, IT service providers Hotelkit, and Austrian Airlines.

The mutually beneficial afternoon introduced company representatives to future tourism professionals who may strengthen their ranks with an MU education, who in turn received firsthand career tips on how to break into the industry. Further career opportunities were offered by event management firm Concept Solutions, event ticketing agency Oeticket, and Austria-wide newspaper Der Standard.

"With the creation of MODUL Career four years ago, we built a strong, common roof for the career activities of MODUL University Vienna and Tourism College MODUL" said Hani El-Sharkawi, director of MODUL Career . "We offer numerous opportunities for networking with leading companies in the hotel and tourism industry not only to graduates, but also to students during their studies. Thus, our industry partners have the opportunity to meet high potential top talent early on, and make contacts for the future. "

Following the Career Fair, the evening offered an elegant gathering of alumni of both MODUL University and Tourism College MODUL alumni, industry professionals, staff, and faculty at the MODUL Career Soirée.  About 250 guests enjoyed the crisp autumn air and a striking view over the city lights and had the chance to interact and network in a relaxed atmosphere.

The annual highlight featured catering by Tourism College MODUL, the live musical stylings of Blue Note Six, and a raffle for charity in which €1000 was raised for Stiftung Kindertraum, a wish-fulfilling organization for sick children.

Among the participants of the Career Soirée were such illustrious guests as Thomas Brenner ( Co-CEO, ÖHV Touristik GmbH ), Klaus Christandl (General  Director of the Hotel Imperial and Tourism College MODUL alumnus), Thomas Legner (General Director of the Hotel Intercontinental Vienna and Tourism College MODUL  alumnus), Petra Herbst (Booking.com and graduate of MODUL University Vienna), and Brigitte Weiss ( Vienna Tourist Board).

Thanks to all for making the day a huge success!
