School visit sparks interest in studying at MU

On Thursday, April 14th, MODUL University Vienna hosted this year’s visit of its “19th district neighbor” high school – the Vocational Education and Training (VET) College for Management and Service Industries, Straßergasse (www.hlw19.at) – of which a group of 30 pupils and teachers came to Kahlenberg for an afternoon information session.

A natural progression from Straßergasse to MU, ties have been strengthened since 2008 when Jacob Rzegocki – a former Straßergasse pupil and its first graduate to study at MODUL University Vienna – began his studies. The college educates students in areas such as European Studies, Environmental Management and Culture & Tourism, and lays down a strong basis to build upon at MU. The 4th year class had the chance to see how MU could provide them with the tools for a successful career in tourism and hospitality, and a first hand experience of studying at the top.

After an informative university tour by Andreas Eder, Head of Marketing, the guests received an in-depth insight into the content of the bachelor program, caught a taste of student life at the university, and learned about the application process. To cap off the visit, afternoon snacks & coffee were served, and Straßergasse pupils mingled with university staff members and MU students. It seems certain, that the years to come will see more young people who can count themselves as graduates of both Straßergasse and MODUL University Vienna heading out into the professional world.
