MU welcomes new administration staff members

MODUL University is pleased to welcome two new members to its administration staff: Markus Luckensteiner, MSc, and Erin Stewart, BA.
Forging a new role in the University Communication Office, Markus Luckensteiner has taken on the position of MU’s first MBA Marketing Manager. He has the task of recruitment and marketing, to attract a high caliber of Masters‘ student to enrich the already vibrant learning environment of MU.
A native of Salzburg, Mr. Luckensteiner has been living and working in Vienna since 2001. Prior to returning to his home country, he worked in Germany for a sales agency which was responsible for setting up business-to-customer (B2C) sales strategies for a large telecom provider in an exciting boom market. Following a successful building-up of the hard sales unit, he came to Vienna to accept a position at mobile phone and broadband provider ONE, which became Orange Austria during his tenure.
His responsibilities as team leader of events, sponsoring and exhibitions focused on event-related promotions. He was in charge of coordinating sponsorships including the Graz Marathon, Ironman Austria, Ennstal Classic, Rapid Wien, the Frequency and Nova Rock Festivals, as well as business events such as golf challenges and the IT&T Exhibition.
Concurrently with holding this demanding position, Mr. Luckensteiner studied at the Business University of Vienna, obtaining a Diploma in Marketing and Sales in 2007. The following year he added MSc in Executive Management to his CV. His experience, both professional and educational, led him to take on a new challenge, transferring to the Marketing Communication Unit as a campaign manager. From 2007 to 2009, he spearheaded above and below the line campaigns such as the iPhone launch and re-branding ONE to Orange.
An avid traveler, Mr. Luckensteiner took an 8 month sabbatical leave, combining his passions of travelling and photography on a journey through South America, before joining MU.
Bolstering its international faction, MU has gained an artistic presence on staff with the appointment of Erin Stewart as Editorial Officer of the newsletter and website. Using her multi-faceted skill set, she is assisting with admissions, taking MU event photography, and retaining in her position as Receptionist, in addition to her editorial duties.
Hailing from western Canada and educated in Communication Studies and Photography at Concordia University, Ms. Stewart began her post-graduate career in 2007 at Spafax custom publishing house in Montreal. Following an internship in the art department of enRoute, Air Canada’s in-flight magazine, she was hired at the company as an integral part of the development and launch team for Bell Canada’s cable television publications SHOW and EXTRA. While living in South Korea, she gained editorial experience at Korean Herald translations, wrote for UNESCO’s local publication, and taught English.
She is also a published photographer, and has had numerous solo and group art shows. Since arriving in Vienna, Ms. Stewart has written for Ether, Vienna’s English-language arts and culture magazine, organizes many music-based events, plays bass guitar in Luise Pop, hosts a monthly radio show on play.fm, and works on improving her German.
