MU welcomes Margarethe Rammerstorfer, head of the new Department of International Management

MU is pleased to announce that Margarethe Rammerstorfer has joined the full time faculty. In addition to teaching in the BBA and BSc programs, she is head of the new Department of International Management and will also fulfill the role as a Program Area Director for International Management.
Before coming to MU, she was Assistant professor at the Finance, Accounting and Statistics department at the Vienna University of Business and Economics (WU), where she earned her doctorate degree in 2007. On the topic of ‘’Energy Markets and Investments’’ she recently finished her habilitation, the highest academic qualification a scholar can achieve by his or her own pursuit in many European and Central Asian countries.
Her research interests include regulatory and competition economics, energy economics, real options, dynamic optimization, applied econometrics, and investments in regulated networks. Her newest research interest covers the combination between social impact investment return.
Originally from Munich, Germany, she has lived and worked in a variety of German cities before heading south to Vienna in 2002 for her studies. Over the years she learned to love the city where she now feels at home because of the cultural offerings, the historical sites, the parks, and the overwhelming beauty of her adopted country.
Away from her duties on Kahlenberg, she enjoys quality time with her family, doing sports (especially swimming) and writing short stories for children. Moreover, she loves travelling (Indonesia is in her sights for the next big adventure), hiking, museums, theater, and the opera.
