MU welcomes first students of the BSc in International Management
September 27, 2013
As part of MU’s largest Orientation Week ever, we welcomed 33 new students to the first cohort of the Bachelor of Science in International Management. This three year, full-time degree program is designed to instill students with management competencies and leadership skills, stressing development and implementation of strategy, managerial activities, and organizational issues related to international business activities.
The 33 new Modulians are coming together on Kahlenberg from 15 countries to begin their path to a BSc. Prof. Dagmar Lund-Durlacher, Dean of the Undergraduate Programs, is enthusiastic about the new degree: “with its strong focus on cross-border business activities, the Bachelor of Science In International Management couldn’t be offered at a better place than MODUL University where students and faculty are representing and living in a truly international and multicultural environment”.
Differing from our previously offered BBA programs which focus on tourism and hospitality related occupations, the Bachelor of Science program places emphasis on teaching general business administration and managerial knowledge, international management concepts and techniques, helps students acquire competences valued by the business community and public sector, and prepares students for entering master level programs offered by leading national and international universities.
Graduates of the program will be prepared for careers in a variety of fields such as controlling and finance, consultancy, human resources, sales and marketing, and research and development. “The cutting edge curriculum focusing on future-oriented fields such as new media and sustainability will equip our students with the knowledge and skills necessary for taking on leadership roles in tomorrow’s world,” says Lund-Durlacher.
We wish our new students all the best in their studies and their future success!
