MU sets the pace for peace
May 17, 2011
Though it’s probably safe to say most university students aren’t up at the crack of dawn on Saturday, on April 30th a dedicated group of MU students and staff rose early to participate in the 10. Österreichischer Friedenslauf. The 13-person MU team joined throngs of other runners to run for peace and help raise money to stop violence against children.
The MU team ran 173 laps around the Rathaus (that’s over 120km!), each of which earned a donation from one of our sponsors. Susanne Fenzl turned in the top performance of the day with 23 laps to her credit. Students chose to donate their sponsors’ donations to a project dedicated to freeing children from child labor in India, organized by the Entwicklungshilfeklub.
Many thanks to our sponsors www.feelslikehome.at, NENI, the Riedrich Family, the Alexander Family, the Redl Family, and the MU community.
