MU joins the European Universities Consortium

MU is an ardent supporter of quality in European Higher Education, and has joined the European Universities Consortium (EUC), a group of institutions that promotes English-taught Bachelor’s programs in Europe.

The EUC currently has 7 members from 7 countries in Western Europe, all universities of international repute adhering to high standards of education in the English language.

All Institutions offer programs that are typically smaller in size than those of the larger universities found in Europe and place a special focus on their international student population, and on student-oriented, holistic admissions processes that go beyond simply looking at high school leaving grades.

The EUC institutions provide a variety of services such as informing high school students about their education possibilities after graduation, and offering career counseling.

Alexander Bari, MU’s Head of Recruitment & Development, is MODUL University Vienna’s official representative in the consortium, attended the European annual meeting hosted by Bocconi University in Milan, Italy from January 27th - 29th to discuss and strategize for 2013.

‘’This is a great opportunity to promote MODUL University Vienna and its programs together with other well-known European higher education institutions who share the same values such as providing the highest quality in education with an international outlook’’ said Bari about the new partnership.

This was the first of the EUC’s twice yearly meetings to plan international recruitment tours together, and prepare formal presentations on current trends and hot topics of the European Higher Education community at international student counseling & university admissions events such as the annual Council of International Schools (CIS) conference in Europe or the annual Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling (OACAC) conference in the US.

All EUC members are hand-selected based on quality, their location in Europe, and their program portfolio and have to fulfill certain criteria to become a member including accreditation by the leading regulatory organizations of the respective European country, and basing their course credits on the new European standard: European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

The next meeting is at this year's OACAC conference in July at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY from July 9th -11th. You’ll find Alex there - spreading the word about MODUL University Vienna!
