MU joins the Common Application

MODUL University Vienna is the first Austrian university to become a member of the Common Application, an undergraduate college admission application tool that may be used to apply to any of 517 member colleges and universities.

Began in the United States in 1975, the international network of Common App certified schools are located in 47 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, as well as in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Singapore.

The idea behind the Common Application is to provide university applicants with a streamlined way to apply to multiple colleges and/or universities of their choice, without the hassle of writing multiple applications though some colleges and universities may require supplemental materials such as an additional essay. Applicants fill out a common, standardized first-year application form for use at any member institution.

Membership to the Common Application organization is only extended to those colleges and universities that practice a holistic selection process in which the applicant is evaluated and appreciated as a whole rather than focusing on single data, fitting in line with MU’s application philosophy.

Membership will both make it simpler for prospective students to apply to MU, and will raise awareness in the international community of our world-class programs on offer through the Common App’s integrated member search engine.
