MU goes stateside at the TEFI World Congress

Since its inception, MODUL University has taken part in the international Tourism Education Futures Initiative (TEFI), which “seeks to provide vision, knowledge and a framework for tourism education programs to promote global citizenship and optimism for a better world”.

Prof. Dr. Karl Wöber, President of MU, and Prof. Dr. Dagmar Lund-Durlacher, Dean of the BBA in Tourism and Hospitality program, will participate in the upcoming TEFI 2011 World Congress "Activating Change in Tourism Education", to be held from May 18-21, 2011, at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, Temple University, Philadelphia (USA). Both have engaged in several TEFI initiatives in the past years.

Founded in 2007, TEFI seeks to strengthen relationships between the tourism industry and universities engaged in tourism education, and to promote forward-thinking change in the field. The initiative puts focus on the value-based principles of ethics, stewardship, knowledge, professionalism and mutuality in that tourism students can take with them into their future professions.
