MODUL Career Fair & Soiree 2015
October 20, 2015
Furthering the annual tradition of helping students to find their dream jobs by day and facilitating alumni to network by night, the 6th edition of the MODUL Career Fair and Soirée was held last Thursday at MODUL University Vienna.
The purpose of the MODUL Career Fair is to bring students and alumni of MODUL University Vienna and Tourism College MODUL together with some of our leading industry partners. Students and alumni have the opportunity to apply for internships and full time or part time jobs, and even have interviews on the spot, whereas the employers have the chance to showcase their company and hire young talent from the two institutions.
This year, thirty national and international tourism and hospitality companies were represented at the Modul Career Fair, including Austrian Airlines, DO & CO, Palais Hansen Kempinski, Hotel Sacher, Harry’s Home Hotels, and Starwood Hotels. We were also very happy to host of our own entrepreneurs who showcased their companies: Bachelor alumnus and current MBA student Rochel Boychev-Sarikov (Rori’s Finest Sweets), and Bachelor student Andrei Gabriel Badila (Patibon Source of Chocolate).
This year, participants at the Career Fair had the opportunity to learn more about careers in hospitality from our partners during informative presentations, as well as get professional career advice from top employers. Representatives of leading hospitality companies provided detailed information not only about internships, trainings, jobs and careers, but also about different scholarships and academic contests for young talent looking to succeed in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The MODUL Career Soirée is a yearly highlight for alumni of both MODUL Unviersity and the Tourism College and our industry partners, which took place for the first time in the exquisite ballroom of Kahlenberg Hotel adjoining MODUL University. Despite the less-than-optimal weather, over 150 attendees took the opportunity to network and enjoy the great atmosphere, food and drinks.
In addition to sitting drinks and nibbling on the delicious buffet, visitors are encouraged to donate to a good cause through supporting a charity beneficiary; this year, €600 was raised for the World Wildlife Fund Austria. MODUL Career would like to thank their partners, who sponsor terrific prizes for the raffle at the end of the evening: Harry's Home Hotel Vienna, The Imperial Riding School Renaissance Hotel Vienna, Hotel Bristol Vienna, Le Meridien Vienna, Intercontinental Vienna, GMS GOURMET GmbH, The Ritz Carlton Vienna, Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront, Steigenberger Hotel Herrenhof, Patibon – Source of Chocolate, Palais Hansen Kempinski, Arcotel Kaiserwasser Vienna, Manhattan Gym Vienna, Embassy of Canada, Mario Plachutta, and Hotel Imperial Vienna.
