November 13, 2012
On October 18th, 2012, the MODUL Career hosted their yearly successful Career Fair and the third annual MODUL Career Soirée at MODUL Tourism College.
MODUL Career, founded in 2010 as a career and alumni platform, has become an indispensable networking platform for students and alumni of MODUL University Vienna and MODUL Tourism College.
Between noon and 5 pm, over 400 students and alumni went from booth to booth to meet representatives of over 40 national and international tourism and hospitality companies. Among the exhibitors were top hotels such as the Hotel Sacher, Mandarin Oriental Munich, and Motel One, as well as innovative hotels that are yet to open such as Sans Souci and 25 Hours. Catering companies such as DO&CO and Eurest, consulting companies such as PKF hotelexperts, online booking platforms such as booking.com, the Vienna Tourist Board, the Canadian Embassy and many more were on hand to present a variety of career opportunities. The best and the brightest were able to secure internships and jobs with the top brands of the industry.

The MODUL Career Fair was followed by the MODUL Career Soirée where alumni, industry partners, staff and faculty were welcomed by Brigitte Jank, President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industries, and the new principal of Tourism College MODUL, Werner Schnabl. 104 years of tourism education and over 6000 alumni who hold top positions worldwide are a good reason to celebrate! “We want to offer our alumni the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make new ones. The MODUL Career Fair and Soirée are excellent opportunities for high potentials to meet industry partners in a relaxed atmosphere and create win-win situations” said Hani El Sharkawi, Head of MODUL Career.
The event was not just a networking success, it also raised €1083 for “Licht in die Welt”, a charity organization that helps to give back eye sight to children.
Ahead of the event, Florian Weber, Founder and CEO of Concept Solutions and Tourism College MODUL alumnus, was honored for becoming a sponsor of MODUL Career. Concept Solutions is a universal service and equipment supplier in different event areas. Inspired by concerts and events, the company not only supplies equipment, but also acts as direct partner to organizers and event agencies.
