MODUL Career awarded 'Premium D-A-Ch' by Alumni-Clubs.net
June 12, 2014
Less than four years after seeing our first cohort of MU graduates, the Alumni program at MODUL University Vienna has already been recognized for excellence by Alumni-clubs.net, the umbrella organization of alumni organizations in the German-speaking world.
Under the leadership of Hani El-Sharkawi, MODUL Career has developed an alumni outreach program offering a variety of events such as summer reunions, the annual MODUL Career Soirée, which gives alumni from both MODUL University Vienna and MODUL Tourism College the chance to network in an exclusive atmosphere with faculty and industry professionals, and Kahlenberger Gespräche, a lecture series where scholars and experts are invited to discuss pertinent topics in the tourism and hospitality industry.
In addition to on campus events, MODUL Career is active across a variety of social networks, maintains www.modulcareer.at, a valuable career resource for both current students and alumni, and has recently introduced a comprehensive alumni database facilitating longstanding contact between alumni and the university.
For these efforts MODUL Career was recognized with the jury prize ‘’Premium D-A-CH’’ (representing Gemany (D), Austria (A) and Switzerland (CH) ), second only to the well-established Technical University of Berlin. The award acknowledged in particular MODUL Career’s outstanding work in alumni management in cooperation with career services and/or fundraising.
Hani El-Sharkawi said of the award, “It is truly an honor to receive this prize and to be recognized for MODUL Career’s efforts in establishing a networking platform that brings together our students, alumni and industry partners. We are very proud of what we have achieved and will continue to strive for excellence in fulfilling the needs of all of our stakeholders and using modern technology to stay connected to our alumni who have started successful international careers around the world.”
