Got a passion for singing? Or maybe football is your game? Wine aficionado? MU’s growing multitude of student clubs have got something for every interest. Here is a highlight of some of our student clubs, and a full list can be found on our website

MU Wine Society

MU’s longest running student club has been teaching appreciation of the grape since 2009. Benefitting from the university’s close proximity to Vienna’s largest concentration of vineyards (fun fact: Vienna is the only major city in the world to have commercial vineyards within its city limits), the Wine Society organizes activities such as visiting heurigers (wine taverns), touring wine production facilities, tastings, and more. The Wine Society’s first event of the new semester takes place on April 3rd at Heuriger Martin Sepp in Grinzing. All Modulians welcome!

MU Hotel Club

The first student club began and run entirely by students, the Hotel Club visits the various spectacular hotels that Vienna has to offer. Students gain important insights on how different hotel categories operate, and what makes them attractive to an international clientele. For those interested in a career in the hotel industry, they are privy to a first-hand vision of what their future working environment might look like. Application forms are available at the front desk- deadline is April 1st!

MU Football Club

Founded by Thomas B. Muller, aka RunJian Xu, the Modul University Vienna Football Club is one of the newer additions to the club roster. Captain Thomas takes care of specifics such as booking the training pitch, training times and team organization, and the team already has 10 regular players. Regular practices, games against other universities, and charity matches are some of their activities, and new players are welcome. Check out their Facebook site - there is still time to register!

MU Choir

The Choir has the gamut from Tenor to Soprano covered, with over a dozen students, staff, and faculty raising their melodic voices to perform at special events. Conducted by a Thomas Eckerstorfer, a student at Vienna’s private music and performing arts university the Konservatorium Wien, the choir sings at the annual graduation ceremony and the student Christmas party, and holds practices throughout the year. Rehearsals will resume after Easter, and everyone is welcome to join and sing!

MU highly encourages student clubs - any student who has an idea for founding one can talk to Jesse Alexander in the Student Service Center.
