European Universities Consortium visit MU

Last week, MODUL University Vienna hosted this year's annual strategy meeting for the European Universities Consortium (EUC), which is a group of 8 institutions from 7 European Countries that promote English-taught Bachelor’s programs in Europe. The purpose of this annual gathering is that all Heads for Admissions & Recruitment from all EUC universities meet to agree on their annual touring calendar and plan other joint activities.

The two day full-day workshop started with a visit at the MODUL College to introduce MU's 7 EUC partner institutions to the history of MODUL. Later in the afternoon, the group voted on who to become the Chairperson and Vice-Chair for a duration of one year and who represent EUC at the most important higher education committees such as OACAC, NACAC, CIS and College Board. We are proud to announce that our own head of Recruitment & Development was chosen as the Chairperson for the upcoming year!

New Chairperson: Alexander Bari, Head of Recruitment of MODUL University Vienna
New Vice-Chair: Marina Tirado Tewes from IE University

"I am honored that the EUC members assigned me with the task to represent the group as their Chair for the next year. We very much believe in this initiative, as it brings together a fine selection of European universities that all offer guidance to students interested in studying in Europe, provide the high school community with advice, and help to clarify opportunities and regulations when it comes to undergraduate education in Europe and that all promote excellence in English-language higher education in Europe."

The 2nd day was fully committed to re-evaluating last year's tour planning schedule and to plan the tours for 2014: the EUC is organizing visits to various international high schools in several countries in order to represent European higher education abroad. In March the EUC will organize a German high school tour, in April there's a Benelux tour in planning, and for September a return to the US & Canada. The group also talked about the content of this year's session proposal of a EUC workshop at the OACAC conference, held in Tampa Bay, hosted by the University of Southern Florida.
