Congratulations to the class of 2013!

MODUL University celebrated another successful year this summer, awarding 37 Bachelor of Business Administration, 13 Master of Business Administration, and 6 Master of Science graduates their diplomas on Kahlenberg.

Held over two days, the first ceremony honoured the Bachelor class in Tourism and Hospitality Management, heading off on their paths to international careers or further higher education. The commencement speech was given by Pauline Sheldon, PhD, Professor Emerita, School of Travel Industry Management, University of Hawai´i at Manoa, who have an inspiring speech based on Hawaiian words of encouragement used in her adopted homeland.

The Master Ceremony was held the following day for the Master of Science in International Tourism Management, Master of Science in Sustainable Development, Management and Policy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration in Public Governance and Management, and Master of Business Administration in Tourism Management.

The commencement speech was given by o. Univ. Prof. Dr. phil. Helga Kromp-Kolb, Head of the Center for Global Change and Sustainability, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, with David Leonard (MSc) and Jörg Strauss (MBA) on the podium to address their peers as valedictorians.

Both evenings were blessed with beautiful weather and a good turnout of friends and family to celebrate their loved ones’ achievements. The MU Choir sang the traditional graduation anthems of ‘Gaudeamus Igitur’ and ‘Ode an die Freude (Ode to Joy)’, as well as MODUL University Vienna’s own anthem, “Scholars of the Future”.
