BBA 2010 graduate Ahmed Shaath shares ''The Story of My Success''
''I came to this university from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in pursuit of a dream. I wanted to leave a noticeable trace, in the vast and magical world of hotels. Through the years, I stumbled and fell many times, but I never knew the meaning of despair…no… I kept standing tall. Years passed and the dream became reality. After graduation I went back to my country. There I had many job opportunities but decided to join the group of experts managing the Four Seasons Hotel flourishing in Riyadh. In the haven of the Four Seasons I knew the real meaning of caring, sharing, and of being successful.
As I decided to join the catering sales department, I knew that it would involve intense working hours and more exposure to all the functions in the hotel. I deal with all kinds of guests and companies from different nationalities and cultures on a daily basis. Some guests require many details and some need more attention to reach their expectations or exceed it. In both ways, it was not difficult for me to cope with, as Modul University taught me the right way of how to deal with guests' requirements, whether it was on the phone or through personal interactions.
Moving on to my city, Riyadh. It is known to be an extremely busy city, full of secrets ready to be discovered. That is why people come from all over the world to be introduced to this desert rose, which offers all kinds of businesses. You can consider my city the largest source of petrol in the Arabian Peninsula. Therefore, many oil companies travel distances to enjoy the sight of black gold.
Dear fellow students, before ending the story of my success, I would like to thank all the members of the university staff who helped me in making my dream come true, and then to urge each and every one of you to…
Climb every mountain
Follow every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream''
