A Charitable Christmas – Students raise money for The Gruft to help the homeless
December 13, 2013
The MU Charity Club and Student Representatives teamed up to put on a Christmas party for the Modul University community and raise money for charity.
The festive afternoon saw the cafeteria buzzing with the holiday spirit as the Student Reps served Punsch, a traditional Austrian holiday drink, and the Charity Club took over the kitchen to bake a selection of homemade pizzas. Musical accompaniment was provided by the MU Choir who regaled us with another legendary performance, and the brand new MU Band who made their debut.
Student rep Ekateryna Gresenko was enthusiastic about the day’s success: "Charity day was full of Christmas cheer. Everybody enjoyed the wonderful performance of our choir, and the delicious homemade food and hot punch. We volunteers did our best since the event was for a good cause. Hopefully we'll repeat our experience again and again, and it will bring a lot of help in future!"
All in all, students, staff, and faculty raised €900 for the Gruft, a Vienna charity that helps the homeless. Check out more photos on Facebook!
